Transforming lives through education, vocation, and community.

What Is YICF

Rooted in one of the largest metropolitan areas in the world, we long to see cities where all people flourish and multiply good works.

A bustling megacity of almost 30 million residents, greater Jakarta is also home to over 7,000 refugees and asylum-seekers and over 7,000 waste pickers living and working on landfills. Due to social and legal barriers, both populations lack access to education, healthcare, and formal employment.

Our work emerged organically in response to these challenges and eventually gained non-profit status in 2015. Today, over 500 children, youth, and adults in the greater Jakarta area participate in YICF programs, and over 100 individuals from many nationalities are involved in our work as staff, leaders, and volunteers.
